Social Networking TMI

I love social networking!  Yeah, I said it!  I'm forever on facebook and twitter is my new favorite.  Facebook is where I keep my personal contacts BUT twitter is like my business venture.  Being a make-artist & hairstylist I meet tons of people I want to keep in touch for networking purposes.  Being that I'm always on the go I don't get to see many of many of my other friends frequently so it's nice to keep in touch threw facebook.  But than there are those people from middle school & high school that want to reconnect.  Cool.  I guess I'll add them even though my first thought is "they're probably being nosy because we sure didn't have much in common in high school"...

As of late, I'm looking threw my feeds and I'm like WTF is going on here.  Its like people feel that a tweet or status update is like an online diary.  OK, so you want people to know your child is potty trained/ can tie their own shoe/ got an A  .. Cool.  You need to vent because you had a bad experience somewhere .. Cool.  I'll probably get a good laugh.  You start ranting because your child's father/mother is a dead beat .. UH no one cares! You start posting all this inspirational hoopla, words to live by, bible verses yada yada yet your life is in shambles (and I know because you have posted your life away on your status)  I shake my head for you!     You start arguing/ name calling/ cursing back and forth/ jerry springer maury type of garbage on your status between you & your significant other's ex/ significant other/ familiy member/ (add a name here) ... Entertaining Yes!  Trashy Yes!  But damn shameful for you.
I've seen so much lately.  Just tonight alone, A fellow make-up artist tweeted her whole personal relationship with her baby's father.  This is a woman who is watched on Youtube by millions of people and followed by thousands on twitter.  As professional I don't want to know that you ex is an addict & an abuser yet 9 years later you can stay away from him.  I don't feel bad for people like this, its actually sad!
Social networking is not a personal diary, psychologist, boxing ring, talk show ect... When used properly you can make new friends and even build on your relationships with others.  Maybe its just me, but I don't want to read about your intimate relations,  bodily functions, & family dysfunctions.
